Service

Tokaroo provides a managed AI routing gateway ("the Service"). The Service accepts API requests, routes them to AI model providers, and returns responses. Tokaroo operates as an intermediary — it does not train models, store conversation content beyond what is required for routing and caching, or sell your data.

The Service is provided as-is. Features, pricing, and model availability may change. We will give reasonable notice of material changes.

Accounts

You must create an account to use the managed Service. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.

Billing & credits

The Service operates on a pre-loaded credit model. You purchase credits in advance and each API request deducts from your balance based on the routing tier (auto / fast / max) and token usage.

Minimum purchase amounts may apply. The current minimum is shown in the payments flow.

Credits do not expire. Unused credits remain on your account indefinitely.

All purchases are non-refundable. Credits that have already been loaded cannot be refunded. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at team@tokaroo.com.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are held by Stripe and are never stored on Tokaroo's servers.

Auto pay

First API key activation requires all of the following: a successful payment, a saved card, auto pay enabled, and acceptance of these terms. Tokaroo blocks first-key creation until that activation checklist is complete.

When you save a card for activation, Tokaroo enables auto pay by default for that account. By accepting the activation flow you authorize Tokaroo to charge your saved payment method automatically to refill your balance to your chosen amount whenever your balance runs low.

Auto pay charges occur automatically, without further confirmation, using your saved card. You will receive an email receipt for each charge. You may also top up manually from the Payments page when available.

You may cancel auto pay at any time from the Payments page after your first key is active. Cancelling auto pay does not refund any balance already loaded. After cancellation, your existing balance continues to work until depleted — no further automatic charges will occur.

If an auto pay charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.), your requests will continue until your balance reaches zero, at which point the API will return a 402 billing_required response. You can add credits manually at any time from the Payments page.

API keys

API keys are shown once at creation and cannot be retrieved again. Store them securely. If a key is lost or compromised, revoke it immediately from the Keys page and create a new one.

You are responsible for all usage under your API keys. Do not share keys with unauthorised parties. Tokaroo is not liable for charges resulting from unauthorised use of your keys.

Bring Your Own Keys (BYOK)

You may connect your own provider API keys (Groq, Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic) to the Service. By doing so you authorise Tokaroo to make API calls to those providers using your keys on your behalf.

You remain solely responsible for your provider accounts and any charges those providers bill you. Tokaroo tracks the requests it routes through your keys, but cannot account for usage you generate outside of Tokaroo. Provider free-tier limits, rate limits, and billing are governed by your agreements with each provider.

Provider secrets are stored encrypted and are never returned by any API response.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates any applicable law
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass, or abuse the routing or caching systems
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission
• Conduct automated load testing or benchmark scraping that degrades service for other users
• Violate the acceptable use policies of any underlying AI model provider

Tokaroo reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without refund.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting team@tokaroo.com. Closing your account cancels auto pay and disables your API keys. Remaining credits are forfeited on account closure.

Tokaroo may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, non-payment, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Unused balances are non-refundable except where required by law.

Savings disclaimer

"Up to 95% less" refers to the maximum potential savings compared to paying retail prices directly to AI model providers. Actual savings depend on several factors:

• Routing mode: auto mode achieves the highest savings by routing to the most cost-effective model. fast and max modes prioritise speed or capability respectively, which may result in lower savings.
• BYOK free-tier usage: The highest savings (up to 95%) are achieved when requests are served through your connected provider free-tier allocations (Groq, Gemini). In this case, Tokaroo charges only a 5% optimization fee.
• Semantic cache: Cached responses cost nothing — repeated or semantically similar requests are served from cache at no charge.
• Model and provider pricing: Savings vary by model. Requests routed to lower-cost providers yield higher savings than those routed to premium frontier models.
• Request volume and pattern: Workloads with high cache hit rates and predictable patterns see the greatest savings.

Tokaroo does not guarantee any specific level of savings. The "up to 95%" figure represents the best-case scenario under optimal conditions (BYOK free-tier routing with cache hits). Typical managed-plan savings without BYOK range from 20% to 70% depending on model mix and routing mode. You can see your actual savings per request in the usage dashboard.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Tokaroo does not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific response quality, or that any particular model or provider will be available at any given time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tokaroo's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim.

Tokaroo is not liable for the content of AI model responses, decisions made based on those responses, or any downstream harm resulting from use of the Service.
