Service
Tokaroo provides a managed AI gateway that accepts requests, applies compatibility and quality checks, selects an optimized route, meters usage, and returns the result through supported API formats. Max, Pro, Auto, Fast, and Basic are Tokaroo routing modes, not guarantees that a particular upstream model or provider will serve a request.
Tokaroo does not host third-party agent harnesses such as Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, or Goose. Those tools run in environments controlled by their operators and connect to Tokaroo as API clients.
Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate account information, maintain a verified email address, and be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live. If you use Tokaroo for an organization, you represent that you can bind that organization to these terms.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
Prepaid billing and credits
Standard API access is prepaid pay-as-you-go. There is no required monthly API subscription. You add funds to your Tokaroo balance, and completed billable requests deduct the Tokaroo charge calculated for the requested mode and measured usage.
Creating the first API key requires an accepted version of these terms, a saved payment card, and a positive balance. The current minimum top-up is shown before payment. If the balance reaches zero, paid API requests stop with 402 billing_required until funds are added.
Stripe processes card details and card charges. Tokaroo stores Stripe references and limited card metadata, not full card numbers. A receipt is issued for every successful card charge.
Except where required by law or where Tokaroo confirms a billing error, purchased credits and consumed usage are non-refundable. Taxes may be added where applicable.
Optional threshold auto-reload
Auto-reload is optional. If you enable it, you choose a balance threshold, a reload amount, and a maximum amount Tokaroo may automatically charge during a rolling 30-day period.
A threshold is the balance level that triggers a reload. For example, a $10 threshold with a $50 reload asks Tokaroo to charge $50 when the balance falls to $10 or below, subject to your rolling limit and payment approval.
You can disable or change auto-reload in Payments. A failed or capped reload does not create credit; existing funds continue until the balance reaches zero.
API keys and client security
Tokaroo API keys are secrets. Store them in a server-side secret manager or trusted harness environment. Do not place a Tokaroo key in a public browser bundle, public repository, or distributable mobile application.
You are responsible for revoking exposed keys, limiting access to your workloads, and setting appropriate budgets. Tokaroo may revoke or rotate credentials when needed to protect the service or an account.
Customer content and model processing
You retain your rights in prompts, files, tool results, and outputs you submit or receive. You grant Tokaroo the limited rights needed to process requests, provide the service, prevent abuse, support customers, and maintain security and reliability.
Request content may be sent to model-service providers selected by Tokaroo. Their processing is necessary to fulfill the request and may be subject to provider-specific restrictions. Do not submit content that you lack the right to process.
You are responsible for reviewing model output before relying on it, especially for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other high-impact decisions.
Acceptable use
You may not use Tokaroo to violate law or third-party rights; distribute malware; facilitate fraud, abuse, exploitation, or unauthorized access; evade security or usage controls; interfere with service operation; or resell access without written permission.
Automated security testing, load testing, or benchmark collection that can affect other customers requires prior written approval. Tokaroo may enforce model-provider restrictions and suspend abusive traffic.
Availability and changes
Models, providers, routes, limits, formats, and features may change as availability, compatibility, measurements, safety requirements, and upstream terms change. Tokaroo does not guarantee that a particular concrete model or provider will be used.
We may change prices or these terms. Material changes apply prospectively after reasonable notice, except where immediate action is required for security, legal compliance, or upstream service continuity.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and request account closure by contacting Tokaroo. Closing an account disables its keys and optional auto-reload. Tokaroo may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, security risk, legal requirements, or breach of these terms.
Sections that reasonably need to survive termination, including payment obligations, content rights already granted for completed processing, disclaimers, and liability limits, remain effective.
Savings and benchmark claims
Public savings figures compare aggregate Tokaroo charges with a documented benchmark for comparable model work. They are historical or measured estimates, not a promise that every request or customer will achieve the same result.
Actual charges and savings vary with the requested mode, task family, input and output length, cache eligibility, market pricing, model availability, and routing measurements. Customer usage surfaces may show aggregate benchmark savings but do not disclose Tokaroo upstream costs, margins, or the concrete provider and model used for each request.
Disclaimers and liability
The service and model outputs are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tokaroo disclaims implied warranties and does not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free output, or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tokaroo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business opportunities. Tokaroo's aggregate liability relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid Tokaroo during the 30 days before the event giving rise to the claim.
